Didier A.
I focus my practice on social and political issues, with my research centered on interpreting personal experiences in the Colombia–Venezuela border region, addressing issues such as illegal trade, fuel smuggling, and migration. Through various techniques, including sculpture, printmaking, painting, and installation, I seek to shed light on the impact of these activities along the border. Painting and drawing occupy a prominent place in my practice, where I explore new forms of representation using vehicle lights and unconventional materials characteristic of border regions. Materiality, landscape, territory, the body, and the border are central concepts in my artistic practice.
