Why I Curate
For me, curating starts with listening , to artists, collectors, galleries, and people who are simply curious about art. It’s about creating connections, supporting the artists I believe in, and making the art world feel a little more open to everyone.

Danilo Roa Hoyos's Studio
Danilo Roa Hoyos (Pereira, 1997) is a Colombian visual artist based in Bogotá. His practice focuses on painting as a tool to build narrative atmospheres where memory, body, and landscape intersect. Through close observation of everyday life and a “poetic of movement”, his work understands territory as an emotional and sensorial archive, a space where traces, displacement, silence, and belonging, exploring how experience is recorded and rewritten. He has participated in group exhibitions in Colombia, including Antioquía’s Young Art Biennial (2019), and received first prize at the National Painting Salon (2023), and "Pintura Inmortal" in El Museo gallery (2026). He lives and works in Bogotá.

I’m Paula, an interdisciplinary artist and designer from Bogotá. My work explores our relationship with nature, water, and living systems through photography, textiles, biomaterials, and natural pigments. I’m interested in slow processes, experimentation, and finding ways of creating that feel more reciprocal and less extractive. A lot of my work comes from paying attention to the small transformations happening around us—and within us.

Among the aspects that the work exposes, three important points have been developed in the process: impossibility, time, and death. The first is reflected in the constant denial of function and the emphasis on the impossible, narrating tensions and exalting oppositions. The other two are seen in the use of objects that have been forgotten or are no longer in use. The work creates structures of matter and stories in volumetric pieces that tend to show a certain nostalgia for their time. It chooses to adopt objects that have fallen into disuse, intervenes in their form and lost function, and assembles structures where geometry is clearly expressed. The life-death idyll is the conceptual backbone of the work. From there it is born and developed. The found object was dead in life and is now highlighted and implemented in a sculptural and conceptual process.

I am a Colombian sculptor born in Bogotá in 1954. Since the late 20th century, I have developed a body of work centred on abstract sculpture, particularly in steel, through which I explore the tension between geometry, balance and movement. Over more than three decades of artistic practice, I have taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Colombia and abroad, and my work forms part of private and institutional collections. My work is characterised by the use of clean structures and dynamic volumes that seek to integrate the sculpture with the space around it. I don’t consider myself a sculptor. I’m a three-dimensional builder because a sculptor is someone who carves away, who shapes, and I see myself more as a designer of space.

His continual interest in the relationship between the built and the natural derive in projects such as; Garden of Weeds and Scaffolding where he questions the way we construct cities and affect the environment and surroundings.
