I am interested in things that have a history—those that have been used, transformed, repaired, or simply stayed close to us over a long time. We come to know people through the objects surrounding them: a worn tool, a photograph, a chair, a garment, an item kept for years. I like observing those small traces and wondering what stories they hold. I am also deeply interested in contradiction. I am drawn to things that cannot be explained in just one way, because within their ambiguity lies truth. Perhaps that is why I enjoy learning new things; I am not interested in having definitive answers, but rather in finding questions that continue to accompany me for a long time. I have a very strong relationship with memory. I find it fascinating how the past remains in the present and how we ourselves change when we try to remember it. I am intrigued by things that disappear, things that remain, and things that return transformed into something else.
