This work is constructed from “paper bricks”—objects created through a process of covering real bricks with paper, onto which a pastel frottage is subsequently made to record their surface texture. Once the original piece is removed, only a paper shell remains that retains the appearance of the brick while contradicting its weight and solidity: what seems rigid and heavy is, in reality, light, soft, and extremely delicate. The work thus shifts the traditional qualities of the building material, transforming it into a vulnerable appearance barely sustained by its own illusion of stability. each piece contains 24 paper bricks and a cardboard palette
